Welcome to the school year 2016-2017! We are so excited to begin a new year with your children. This year our theme is "We are The World". We will continue to learn about taking care of the earth and each other. Students will also be learning about the different continents and cultures from different countries. We will integrate this theme throughout the school year at our different events and activities.
Matthys Parent Blog My goal for this blog is to keep parents informed about events that are happening at Matthys Elementary. I will also try to provide information and tips about how you can help your child/ren to be successful at school and outside of school. Upcoming Events
September 5 -- Labor Day Holiday / No classes
September 8 -- Volunteer Orientation at 8:30 am. If you cannot make this time, please let Mrs. Jones, our counselor, know and she will arrange another time for you. We welcome all volunteers at Matthys.
September 12-16 -- Grandparents Week. We invite grandparents to come to school during lunch to eat with the students if possible.

September 13 -- Progress Reports go home for 3rd and 4th grades
Bienvenido al año escolar 2016-2017. Estamos muy emocionados de empezar un nuevo año con sus hijos. Este año nuestro tema es "Somos el Mundo". Seguiremos aprendiendo como cuidar a la tierra y a los demás. Los estudiantes también van a aprender acerca de los diferentes continentes y culturas de diferentes países. Se integrará este tema durante el año en los diferentes eventos y actividades.
Blog para los Padres de Matthys Mi objetivo para este blog es mantener al los padres informados sobre acontecimientos que están sucediendo en Matthys. También intento darles información y consejos sobre cómo usted puede ayudar a su hijo/a para tener éxito en la escuela y fuera de la escuela. 5 de septiembre -- Vacaciones del Día del Trabajo. No hay clases.
8 de septeimbre -- Orientación para voluntarios a las 8:30 am. Si usted no puede asistir ese día, cominique con la Sra. Jones, nuetra consejera, y organizará otra junta.
12 de septiembre -- Semana de los abuelos. Le invitamos a los abuelos a venir a la escuela durante el almuerzo para comer con sus nietos si es posible.
